Why My Head Felt So Full

I’ve just worked out why my head felt so full.

Every month, I set a reminder to capture my achievements and CPD in a running document. It’s a simple habit, but it helps me notice progress and patterns.

I’ve set up the 2026 version and added my January notes.

I packed a lot in. Professionally and personally.

No wonder my brain felt busy.

In the last week of January, on a coaching walk, I heard myself say, “I don’t need to achieve all my 2026 goals in January.”

Apparently, I needed to hear it too.

There’s something about the start of the year that encourages acceleration. New goals. New energy. A quiet pressure to make it count immediately.

But progress doesn’t need to be crammed into the first four weeks.

Sometimes the most useful thing we can do is notice the pace we’re setting — and decide whether it’s sustainable.

I need to pay attention to myself.

Perhaps you do too.
